Nothing makes me overheat more than driving in my car, but nothing makes me sweat more than running in the Texas heat. Today is Day 2 of my easy week. Yesterday I ran 6 miles, today I ran 4, tomorrow 6…and the pattern continues through Sunday. Even though this is low mileage for me, it feels so good to be back running again with sweat soaking through my clothes, my lungs fighting to breathe the humid air. And now that I am back running again, I am beginning to plan out my next series of races. I have nothing scheduled until October, so I have some planning to do. Here are the races I am looking into…
July 29 Plano Pacer’s Charity Run 5k Plano, TX
August 13 Hottest Half 13.1, 10k, or 5k Dallas, TX
September 3 Ranger’s Labor Day Race 5k Arlington, TX
September 16 Tour de Fleurs Quarter Marathon (This year there is a quarter marathon and half marathon instead of the 10k and 20k.) Dallas, TX
October 14 Moni 5k Farmers Branch, TX
October 28 Heroes Run Half Marathon Shreveport, LA – On the schedule!
November 23 Dallas Turkey Trot 8 mile Dallas, TX- On the schedule unless my coach says otherwise!
December 3 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon – On the schedule!
What races are you training for?
