Happy Halloween Everyone! I hope your day is going well! Mine is so far. My dead legs made it through another Tuesday Tempo. It was tough, but manageable. I warmed up faster than expected. 3 miles easy. I decided to spend a little more time on my drills and strides than I normally do since my hip flexors and back were still very tight. For the strides, I did 4x100m @ 5:30/mile pace.
Now For The Workout
4 miles @ 6:54/mile These 4 miles were incredibly challenging. The effort I put into these 4 miles felt very similar to the effort that I put into running the half marathon on Saturday.
4 minutes rest (very slow jog)
4 x 800 (3 minutes rest in between each) That hurt. I pushed as hard as I possibly could for these. I know my pace was off, but I gave it everything I had. Some days are about the effort instead of the time or pace.
3 mile cool down
This workout wiped me out. Temporarily.
After taking a shower, changing into my Deadpool Costume, and taking care of a few Must Do Today items, I feel recharged and ready to take on my afternoon miles.
