I have thirty minutes to type this post, edit, and load the images I want to show you. Gone are the days I have time to come up with the perfect title that sums up the topic and purpose of a post while grabbing your attention and making you want to click. : )
It’s been over two weeks since my last post. This silence was not planned. It just happened. All of my effort, I put into school, running, and my family. I didn’t have anything left at the end of the day to write. So here it goes…
How everything was/is going in nutshell.
Training has progressed nicely over the past two weeks. I feel like I am close to race shape again. No races are on the calendar at the moment, but am considering adding a few no pressure races beginning in May. A couple 5ks and maybe a half. I plan on taking most of May off from school so that will be a good time to get back into racing.
My Friday morning workout was a tempo run which I ran inside. My allergies have been horrible this year so I have reduced my outdoor running time significantly…
The workout was 2 miles at an easy pace. Strides (usually I end up running 3-4×30 sec strides on the treadmill). 2.5 miles @6:45/mile. 2.5 minutes rest. 2.5 miles @6:50/mile I did about a 1 mile cool down but the workout called for 2 miles. I had a morning class that I needed to get to.
Time for a new pair of shoes…
And a new shirt…
This happened when I was in my car, hot from the lack of AC and desperately needing to take off my jacket. The shirt ripped, the zipper remained stuck, and I was left with two options. My son’s Cowboy shirt that might fit or my daughter’s shirt that might fit. #wardrobemalfunction
After I finish this post, I am going to do a boxing class at Guy Mezger’s Combat Sports Club. For years, my family and the MMA coaches have been trying to convince me to come take a class. After seeing the success that some of my running friends have had with cross training on top of long distance training, I have decided to give it a shot. I will let everyone know how it goes in Sunday’s Three Weeks of Training Post.
As most of you know, I am in the Computer Information Technology Program at Richland College. I am just about finished with the basic computer classes. Computer Hardware and Operating Systems. After this semester, I only have one more core class (Speech) and then the rest will be degree specific. I have yet to decide if I am going to stick with Network Admin or venture off into Network Security. Many of the Semester I and II courses are the same for both tracks so that decision I will make later on.
This week in Computer Hardware, I made a patch cable and a crossover cable. It took me a lot longer than I thought it would. #newITgirl
Flag football games have kept us busy on the weekends lately. Two games tomorrow!
I hope everyone is having a great week!
